Spring Activities

I am feeling so guilty that I have not blogged in a while. It just seems like life has been so busy the past few months, but once again I have found peace and quiet so I feel this is the perfect time to blog. Easter was wonderful. We went over to my in-laws and I did not have to cook or bake one item. Jill made a yummy roast, potatoes, rolls, carrots, and dessert. Thanks Jill. We did a little Easter egg hunt for Brayden which he of course loved. Here are some pictures of us Easter morning.

Last weekend Jeff's Aunt Sue and Uncle Larry came and visited us. We had fun with them like we always do. At the beginning of June Jeff's cousin Jake, Alli, and Dallin will be visiting us and then my sister Jonelle and her family will be coming to see us in July. I am so excited to have visitors since I miss my family and friends back in AZ so much. Jeff and I have been busy with our callings and work. Jeff is now the 2nd counselor in the Elders Quorum and I am still working with the YW. I am getting everything ready for girls camp. I think it is going to be a lot of fun.

In my spare time I like to work on projects. I have plans of sewing an apron. I have sewn a few bean bags. I would like to make some more necklaces, and eventually I would like to paint Brayden's future big boy room, but my latest project has been repainting an end table. My very good friend Courtney just moved into their first brand new home. I am sad she won't be in the same ward as me but happy that she still does not live that far from me. Courtney has this end table given to her from her Father that she wants to keep but give it an update look. I suggested sanding it and then painting it black. Due to my love of making something old and making it look new I took on the project myself. Here are the before and after pictures. I think it turned out great. I am glad Courtney has always been such a good friend to me because this was definitely a labor of love. I love you Courtney!
This picture was taken after I sanded it but imagine a dark stain finish with little dark brown speckles. It is amazing what a little paint can do for furniture. The only question I have is I have not been able to find a good varnish to put on after I paint that does not bubble or make the furniture look real shiny. Does anyone know of a good varnish?
